Three Years Ago Today, Corrupt Ken Paxton’s Impeachment Trial Began For Bribery & Abuse Of Office
AUSTIN, TX — Three years ago today, Ken Paxton became the first Attorney General in Texas history to sit trial after being impeached by his fellow Texas Republicans and his own staff reported him to the FBI for bribery and abuse of office.
On September 5, 2023, House impeachment managers laid out in excruciating detail how Ken Paxton engaged in a “pattern of deceit” and “turned the keys” of the Attorney General’s office to Nate Paul his wealthy donor who Paxton helped enrich through his office in exchange for Paul remodeling his home and covering up his extramarital affair.
On the opening day of the trial Paxton’s senior staff, Former Deputy Attorney General Jeff Mateer, testified that he was in “discomfort as he watched Paxton make unusual moves” going Paul’s bidding with impeachment managers describing how Paxton turned his government office into a “concierge law firm” for his rich donor.
