Summary:
The Texas Democratic Party (TDP) is seeking a dynamic Senior Communications Advisor who will work with the Executive Director, Chair, party staff, and stakeholders to drive earned media coverage and communicate the party’s message. This position is responsible for overseeing the party’s overall communications and messaging strategy for the 2026 gubernatorial race. This is an on-the-record role and will include overseeing internal and external communications, developing communications plans, executing events, working with reporters, and building a program that creatively and aggressively holds Greg Abbott accountable.
Responsibilities:
On the record spokesperson for the governor’s race.
Plan and oversee events including press conferences, press calls, and creative earned media opportunities.
Draft media materials, including press releases, talking points, online content, and statements.
Write short and long-term communications plans.
Develop pitch ideas and pitch stories to reporters in Texas and nationally.
Respond to media inquiries.
Work with staff to manage difficult communications situations, including crisis communications.
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years working in political communications, preferably at least one cycle on a statewide campaign.
On-the-record experience.
Proven ability to execute creative earned media campaigns.
Previous record of working and communicating with multiple stakeholders.
A willingness to work in a high-paced campaign environment with unpredictable hours.
Compensation:
$6,500 - $7,000 Per month (salaried position)

Summary:
This person oversees all aspects of the Democratic Party’s voter protection program, including direct voter assistance, local advocacy, vote-by-mail support, the poll watching program, and post-election planning. They will also serve as the Primary Administrator, leading the State Party’s election administration responsibilities for the Democratic Primary, including managing the candidate filing process, liaising with state and local election officials, and training and supporting County Chairs in executing their primary administration responsibilities.
The position is responsible for creating a comprehensive educational and action plan to expand opportunities for Texans to be registered to vote, educated on all aspects of voting, and be protected from any form of intimidation or voter suppression that interferes with casting a ballot or full participation in all aspects of Texas government.
Responsibilities:
Lead the Voter Protection Team’s programmatic efforts, planning, and overseeing the team’s work for the 2026 election cycle and managing the staff member(s).
Coordinate with other departments to facilitate the Voter Protection Team’s work and support the work of other departments.
Build a statewide voter protection and regional level voter protection program that covers Early Voting, vote-by-mail and Election Day.
Identify regions, counties and voting methods that will require additional voter protection resources.
Build proactive contingency plans for potential voting disruptions, legal challenges, or election emergencies.
Manage the Voter Protection team, supporting individual staff members in their day-to-day work and their professional development, guiding and connecting the team’s various work streams, and providing constructive feedback on plans and work product.
Track legislative and litigation developments related to voting and election law and collaborate with the Party’s legal counsel on how to address those developments.
Identify election administration and voting problems through collaboration with County Chairs, external stakeholders, hotline reports, news reports, and other sources to develop a coordinated response within the Party.
Recruit, train, and manage volunteer poll monitors, voter assistance volunteers, hotline staff, and poll observers.
Build training materials, scripts, and reporting protocols.
Coordinate volunteer scheduling for early voting and Election Day coverage.
Ensure volunteers understand election laws, de-escalation practices, and reporting procedures.
Monitor polling place operations and voting trends throughout the voting period.
Coordinate rapid response to reports of voter intimidation, polling place issues, equipment failures, long lines, accessibility concerns, and other voting barriers.
Maintain communication with field organizers and regional leadership.
Track and resolve Election Day incidents in real time.
Administer the Democratic Primary election throughout the state, managing the candidate filing process for TDP, tracking primary finances, and training & supporting County Chairs in administering county primary elections.
Coordinate with state and select county-level officials to advance proactive improvements to voting, respond to problems, and resolve issues for individual voters, with a particular focus on issues impacting people of color and voters with disabilities.
Serve as the primary point of contact for, and collaborate with, national partners on voter protection, including the DNC, DSCC, and DCCC.
Act as a spokesperson for TDP on voting rights issues, including speaking at public events, going on-the-record with reporters, and leading public trainings & events (virtually and in person).
Maintain a strong knowledge base of voting laws, policies, and practices within Texas and national trends/best practices.
Requirements:
Minimum of six years of professional experience in campaigns and/or policy & advocacy.
Minimum of one cycle of voter protection experience on staff with a state party, coordinated campaign, or a non-profit organization.
Minimum of three years of people management experience.
Minimum of two years of project management experience that included multiple team members, from an idea through execution.
Demonstrated excellent problem-solving skills and pragmatic approach.
Strong knowledge of the Election Code or policy guidance.
Demonstrated strong presentation and training skills.
Preferred
Organizing experience – The candidate has a track record of success in recruiting, training and managing volunteers, and escalating volunteers into leadership roles.
Experience using VAN.
Compensation:

Summary:
The Texas Democratic Party (TDP) is seeking a dynamic and experienced fundraising leader to serve as our Development Director. This is a senior-level role responsible for designing, implementing, and scaling an ambitious, multi-channel fundraising operation to power year-round organizing and ensure long-term sustainability for Democrats in Texas. The Development Director will lead a team of staff and consultants in building and sustaining a robust financial support program, cultivating major donors, growing our small-dollar program, executing fundraising events, and supporting compliance. This position plays a critical role in building the strategic financial infrastructure necessary to flip the Texas House, win down-ballot races, and elect Democrats across the board.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement an integrated short- and long-term fundraising plan in collaboration with the Executive Director, senior leadership, and the Finance Committee.
Lead the major donor program, including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of high-level prospects.
Manage and grow the grassroots fundraising program, including digital giving (in coordination with digital staff), recurring donors, and direct mail.
Lead the development and execution of high-impact fundraising events across Texas and virtually, including signature donor briefings and house parties.
Engage staff and the State Committee by creating an organizational culture of fundraising.
Serve as a resource for Democratic County Parties, elected officials, and candidates on fundraising strategy and reporting.
Raise funds through consistent personal call time and ensure preparation and oversight of call time for the Executive Director, Party Chair, and other principal fundraisers; manage all related staff preparation, follow-up, and donor tracking.
Oversee the maintenance of accurate and comprehensive donor records using NGP VAN and fundraising CRMs.
Collaborate with the Compliance Team and legal counsel to ensure that all fundraising activities comply with federal and state campaign finance laws.
Supervise the finance and development team, including staff, interns, and consultants.
Provide fundraising training and support to Democratic county parties, candidates, and elected officials where appropriate.
Partner closely with stakeholders, including labor unions, progressive partners, institutional donors, and national allies (e.g., DSCC, DNC, DCCC) to increase financial support of Democratic candidates.
Create and present regular reports and analysis for the Executive Director, Chair, and Finance Committee.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong preference for two to three cycles of campaign or political communications experience
Minimum 4+ years of professional experience in political, nonprofit, or university fundraising.
Demonstrated continued success in managing high-level donor relationships and raising seven-figure revenue goals.
Experience managing donor databases and compliance processes, preferably with NGP VAN and ActBlue.
Track record of organizing successful fundraising events and call time operations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong project management skills and ability to execute on deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of Texas political landscape and Democratic donor networks.

Summary:
The Texas Democratic Party is seeking a highly organized, strategic, and mission-driven Deputy Executive Director to serve as the organization’s chief internal operator. This role ensures the Party’s day-to-day operations run smoothly, supports staff and department heads, and keeps cross-departmental work on track. The Deputy Executive Director enables the Executive Director to focus on fundraising, political relationships, media, and long-term strategy by managing internal systems, staff workflow, and organizational processes.
Responsibilities:
Lead daily operations and internal processes to ensure timely execution across departments.
Manage staff performance, internal communications, and organizational culture.
Oversee compliance, administrative operations, and internal party business.
Coordinate with the DNC and manage the State Partnership Program.
Support strategic planning, special projects, and organizational change.
Act as the Executive Director’s internal proxy when needed.
Oversee constituent services and the Party’s intern program.
Preferred Qualifications:
2–4 election cycles of experience.
Strong understanding of Texas politics.
Proven team leadership and project management skills.
Excellent communication abilities.
Familiarity with statewide coordinated campaigns and campaign finance reporting.

Summary:
All internships are 10 weeks, with a minimum of 24 hours per week. We generally prefer that part-time interns commit to work full workdays (i.e., three eight-hour days rather than four six-hour days), but schedules can be flexible. Internships are offered on an in-person basis only at our Dallas and Austin offices. Interns are required to have access to a computer.
