Three Years Ago: Paxton’s Own Staff Testified He Was “Immoral, Unethical” And Abused His Office To Benefit His Wealthy Donors

AUSTIN, TX — Three years ago today, Corrupt Ken Paxton’s own staff took the stand against him for abuse of office, saying he fixated on helping enrich his wealthy donor Nate Paul and that the Attorney General office had been “hijacked” to benefit Paxton’s donors against the interests of Texas. 

On September 7, 2023, Paxton’s former top employees gave tearful accounts about how they did not want to testify against their boss, but that Paxton’s actions were “concerning,” “unconscionable,” and left them no choice as Paxton’s “focus was on Nate Paul” – diverting staff to help his donor rather than the people of Texas. The day before, whistleblower Ryan Bangert testified that when it came to matters involving Nate Paul, Paxton “was acting like a man with a gun to his head. Anxious, desperate” and forcing the office to rush legal opinions that would financially benefit his donor.
