Paxton Has No Plan To Lower Gas Prices, Saying In Recent Interview He Wishes War Happened “After The Midterm Elections”

AUSTIN, TX — As Texas farmers and families feel the pain of diesel rising over $6 and gas nearing $4, Ken Paxton is refusing calls to provide relief for families and is only focused on his electoral prospects, saying he wishes the Iran War he supports had happened “after the midterm elections.”

As Talarico continues his bipartisan push to suspend the federal gas and diesel tax, the El Paso Times writes: “Despite a wealth of bipartisan support for the measure, Paxton has remained silent on the issue while simultaneously supporting the war in Iran, which stands as the leading cause of rising gas prices.”

REMINDER - Paxton repeatedly backed the war in Iran, saying he was “very glad” when Trump first ordered the strikes.

Texas Democratic Party Spokesperson Ryan Martin:

"Every time you pay more at the pump you can thank Ken Paxton. Paxton supports this reckless war of choice costing taxpayers billions and now is saying he wishes it happened ‘after the midterms’ because it would benefit him politically, instead of backing Talarico’s bipartisan plan to provide relief.  Texas farmers can’t survive under diesel prices this high, and families everywhere are going to be paying the Paxton price hike because he refuses to stand up for Texans and call for an end to this reckless war of choice.”
