Texas Democratic Party Re-Releases NRSC Ad From One Year Ago: “Texas Deserves Better than Ken Paxton”

AUSTIN, TX — One year ago today, the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) released an ad “exposing Ken Paxton’s incompetence and failed leadership as Texas’ Attorney General.” The NRSC deleted that ad and tried to wipe it from the internet, but we kept the receipts. Today the Texas Democratic Party is re-releasing that same ad to remind voters of what Republicans have said about their own candidate, Ken Paxton.

Texas Democratic Party Spokesperson Ryan Martin said:

“One year ago, the NRSC released an ad saying Ken Paxton was too dangerous for Texas. We agree. The NRSC deleted it hoping Texans would forget what Republicans have said about their own corrupt candidate; they don’t want voters to think for themselves. In the words of the NRSC: Texas deserves better than Ken Paxton.”

NEW AD: Texas Deserves Better than Ken Paxton

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) released a new ad today exposing Ken Paxton’s incompetence and failed leadership as Texas’ Attorney General. Under Paxton’s watch, violent crime has increased across the board, homicides hit a nearly three-decade high and rapes are up more than 40 percent.“Ken Paxton’s incompetence as Texas’ chief law enforcement officer has allowed crime to run rampant across the Lone Star State,” said NRSC Communications Director Joanna Rodriguez. “Texans deserve a leader who can keep their communities safe, not one whose mismanagement has made things worse.”

As Attorney General, Ken Paxton allowed crime to run rampant across Texas:

  • During Paxton’s tenure as Texas’ Attorney General, violent crime has increased:

  • Homicides hit a nearly three-decade high

  • Rape is up more than 40 percent

  • Aggravated assault is up nearly 30 percent

  • Motor vehicle thefts nearly doubled

  • Under Paxton, more than 250 human trafficking cases have been dismissed. Paxton’s antics have caused a mass exodus at the Attorney General’s human trafficking division, with 40 percent of staff leaving.

  • Paxton made a deal with a sex trafficker to stay out of jail and off the sex offender registry, but that individual was rearrested in April 2025.

  • Paxton lied about shutting down the “world’s largest human trafficking marketplace.”
