Paxton Silent on Trump Calling Texans Who Don’t Want Data Centers "Backwards And Poor”
AUSTIN, TX — Ken Paxton has stayed silent about President Trump’s comment that Texans who don’t want data centers in their backyards raising their electric bills are “backwards and poor,” refusing to stand up for rural Texans as he faces outrage for taking controversial data center donations while refusing to take any action as Attorney General.
Paxton was one of the architects of helping flood Texas with data centers, voting for the 2013 law that gave data centers a multi-billion dollar tax handout that cost taxpayers over $3.3 billion and growing. A recent investigation found that Paxton’s donations from data center interests have “exploded” to nearly $448,000 while he has refused to weigh in; when asked about the donations, he “did not respond.”
