AUSTIN, TX — 14 years ago today, Ken Paxton was caught on camera stealing Texas attorney Joe Joplin’s $1,000 Montblanc pen that was a gift from his wife – now, Joplin is endorsing James Talarico for Senate.

Joplin left his Montblanc pen in a metal detector tray at the Collin County courthouse and returned to find that it had been taken. Joplin contacted the police, who after reviewing security footage found that Ken Paxton had stolen the pen.

Ken Paxton would later become very familiar with the Collin County courthouse, as it would be where he would later face criminal indictment for felony securities fraud.
