COME ON DOWN! Greg Abbott Offering Access to Texas Governor’s Mansion in Exchange for Political Support

DALLAS, TX – Come on down!

Career politician Greg Abbott would love to have you over to the Texas Governor’s Mansion, but only if you help him get reelected first.

Through his Abbott Impact app, users earn points for completing various political activities for the Abbott campaign, like getting people out to vote for him, knocking on doors, and making phone calls. And just in time for the holidays, the app also lets you find out which political party your contacts belong to and how they’ve voted in previous elections!

And if you earn 15,000 points, you can score some “swag,” including an exclusive VIP invite for 2 to an event at the taxpayer-supported Texas Governor’s Mansion!

That’s right! Greg Abbott is offering special access to state property in exchange for helping him stay in office.

“Let’s get one thing straight: this isn’t The Price is Right. This is the people’s house. It belongs to the people of Texas – not Greg Abbott. And it reeks of desperation that he would reduce the historic governor’s mansion into some prize for helping him get re-elected, especially when people can visit and take tours of the residence for free. Texas’s public spaces are not political currency. But Greg Abbott should enjoy his remaining time there because pretty soon he’s going to have to move out,” said Texas Democratic Party Spokesman Jacob Long.
