Paxton Forgets The Alamo, Cancels Final Rally As Campaign Spirals In Days Before The Election
Paxton’s bus tour, which he centered around the Alamo, has been a dumpster fire of small crowds, cancelled events, and brutal viral backlash
AUSTIN, TX — Ken Paxton is forgetting the Alamo. What was supposed to be his big final rally the day before the election at the Texas landmark has now been canceled, as his disastrous campaign and bus tour that has been plagued with small crowds and viral ridicule comes to a close.
In a moment of perfect symbolism for the state of Paxton’s train wreck campaign, the Texas Tribune reports: “Paxton was supposed to make the last stand of his campaign at the Texas landmark around which his ‘Come and Take It’ bus tour centered: The Alamo. But on Saturday, two days before his final rally would’ve taken place on the eve of Election Day, Paxton appeared to scrap those plans.”
The Paxton campaign, now panicking, is refusing to comment and appears to be scrambling for smaller events 300 miles away. The Alamo Trust said it has no plans for Paxton to appear at the Alamo.
Paxton already had been forced to cancel multiple events from El Paso to Texarkana because people weren’t showing up to his events as Texas Republicans declare they will not vote for Paxton. Paxton was caught literally bussing people into his rallies, a BBQ restaurant denounced Paxton’s events as “not authorized by ownership,” and he even had a viral “Please Clap” moment as his campaign spirals in the final days.
Texas Democratic Party Spokesperson Ryan Martin said:
“Ken Paxton is surrendering before Election Day even arrives. His ‘Come and Take It’ bus tour is ending exactly how it deserves: nobody came, and Paxton took off. Texans aren’t showing up to Paxton’s events because they are fed up with crooked politicians rigging the system and thinking their rich donors can buy them a Senate seat. Remember the Alamo, and in 2 more days Texas can finally forget Ken Paxton.”
