Texas Democratic Party Chairman Kendall Scudder Announces TDP’s New Political Director

AUSTIN, Texas – As Chairman Scudder continues ushering in a new era at the Texas Democratic Party—one defined by fresh energy, bold leadership, and a renewed commitment to building a new political organization, he is excited to announce that Kiara Holloway will serve as the new Political Director.

“Since I started, I have been committed to restructuring the party to be the political force that changes not just the state, but the nation. That is why I am proud to announce Kiara Holloway as the new Political Director for the Texas Democratic Party. Kiara brings years of legislative, campaign, and government experience, and I have seen firsthand her dedication to this organization. Kiara will continue to be an influential part of our team as we continue building the organization our movement deserves,” said Texas Democratic Party Chairman Kendall Scudder. 

Kiara Holloway, our new Political Director, is a proud El Paso native and will be the first Afro-Latina director at the Texas Democratic Party. Kiara joined the party in 2022 as a VAN Assistant and quickly rose to become the Deputy Data Director for VAN. On top of advocacy work, Kiara has two legislative sessions under her belt as both a District Director and a Legislative Director. Through years of experience, Kiara has supported hundreds of campaigns and government offices across Texas, and will continue to do so as our new Political Director.
