Texans Aren’t Buying It: Prices Spiked Under Corrupt Ken Paxton Because Of Policies He Supports - And We Have The Receipts
AUSTIN, TX — Corrupt Ken Paxton didn’t release a single new policy for the first 478 days of his campaign, and now, Paxton is trying to cover up his price-spiking agenda– but we have the receipts.
Texas Democratic Party Spokesperson Ryan Martin:
"No Texan is buying that Corrupt Ken Paxton cares about lowering their costs. Paxton backs tariffs spiking grocery prices, supports the Iran war which sent gas prices soaring, and is one of the biggest advocates for the One Big Ugly Bill which is doubling and tripling healthcare costs for millions. The only thing Ken Paxton cares about is lining his own pockets and helping his billionaire donors get richer. Texans see right through it and will be sending him packing in November.”
See for yourself how Corrupt Ken Paxton backed policies have raised costs across Texas:
Paxton “fully support[s]” tariffs which have sent grocery prices skyrocketing for Texas families. The price of ground beef has risen by 18% since last year. And 44% of manufacturers plan to hike prices for their consumers because of tariffs’ impact on their bottom line. Texans are paying around $1,000 more on average since these tariffs went into effect.
Paxton backs the war in Iran – which has increased Texas gas prices to near record highs and sent inflation soaring. Gas prices are currently 60 cents higher per gallon than in 2024 because of the Paxton-backed Iran war, which is simultaneously costing taxpayers billions of dollars.
Because of the Paxton-supported OBBBA, 1.7 million Texans are estimated to lose their health insurance due to healthcare cuts and elimination of the ACA enhanced premium tax credits families relied on to afford healthcare.
Paxton hailed OBBBA as “incredible” which has led to Texas rural hospitals closing and healthcare costs spiking.
Texans’ average healthcare premiums are projected to spike 115% for those who relied on the ACA enhanced premium tax credits. Already, more than 193,000 Texans have lost Medicaid coverage since OBBBA was enacted.
Under Ken Paxton, Texas now leads the nation in hunger with over 550,000 Texans already having lost food assistance, half of which are children because of the Paxton-backed OBBBA.
