PAXTON MISCONDUCT MILESTONE: Six Years Since Corrupt Ken Paxton Personally Penned a Legal Opinion To Benefit His Millionaire Donor

AUSTIN, TX — Six years ago today, Corrupt Ken Paxton was allegedly berating his staff through the night to rush out a legal opinion published at 1:00 AM to benefit his millionaire donor Nate Paul — a key piece of evidence that led to Paxton becoming the  first Attorney General to be impeached by his own party in Texas history for bribery and abuse of office.

When Nate Paul needed help with foreclosure proceedings, Paxton allegedly forced two employees to “work through the night to produce the opinion while Paxton frequently called them.” One employee testified that Paxton “sounded like someone was holding him hostage” and that he personally edited the opinion. 

Paul cited the late night legal opinion the very next day to help benefit his business, in what was described in Paxton’s impeachment filings as a “blatant abuse” of Paxton’s office.
