Happy National Best Friends Day To Corrupt Ken Paxton and His Millionaire Donor Nate Paul
Austin, Texas – The Texas Democratic Party wants to wish a Happy National Best Friends Day to corrupt Ken Paxton and his favorite millionaire donor Nate Paul.
Paxton and Paul set a new low standard for #friendshipgoals after their relationship of trading favors was exposed, leading to Paxton becoming the first Attorney General in Texas history to be impeached on charges of “bribery and abuse of office.”
Paxton’s friendship with the Austin real estate mogul was built on an alleged pay-to-play deal in which Paul reportedly paid to renovate Paxton’s mansion and hired Paxton’s mistress “so that she could move from San Antonio to Austin, and be closer” to Paxton. In turn, when Nate had legal trouble, Paxton allegedly intervened by pressuring settlements for “pennies on the dollar” and “investigate[d] his enemies.”
Paxton reportedly went to extraordinary lengths to obscure their friendship using a “burner phone, secret email account, [and a] fake Uber name to hide ties to Nate Paul.” But Paxton & Paul need not worry about celebrating their friendship today, which is now known to Texans after Paxton’s own staff reported him to the FBI for using his office to benefit Paul.
Texas Democratic Party spokesperson Ryan Martin:
“No friendship in Texas history has done more to show the corruption in government and undermine public trust than Ken Paxton and Nate Paul. Corrupt Ken Paxton is no friend to Texans and voters will hold him accountable for his record of corruption in November.”
