AUSTIN, TX — Texas Republicans’ desperate attempts to show unity at their convention “backfired spectacularly” as the Texas GOP scrambles amid the fallout from having corrupt Ken Paxton at the top of their ticket. 

The convention got off to a “rocky start” as prominent GOP officials continued to pledge they will not vote for Paxton, saying “character is more important than party [...] I’ll never vote for him” and Republicans “worried about losing in November.” Meanwhile, outside the convention hall, protesters gathered to demand Ken Paxton stop protecting pedophiles.
