Texas Billionaire's Not-So-Secret Weapon: Matt Rinaldi Unveiled as Texas GOP’s Chief Saboteur, SEC Discloses

AUSTIN, Texas – Today, the Texas Tribune revealed that SEC reports disclose Republican Party of Texas Chair Matt Rinaldi as one of Texas billionaire Farris Wilks’ attorneys. Wilks is notorious for funding the Defend Texas Liberty PAC, a group known for its ties to white supremacists and being the Texas GOP’s largest donor group. 

For months, Matt Rinaldi has fended off critics of Defend Texas Liberty despite their undeniable ties to neo-Nazis like Nick Fuentes, and implementation of white supremacist ideologies within Texas policy and the Republican Party of Texas. 

Texas Democratic Party Chair Gilberto Hinojosa issued the following statement:

“We’ve seen the devolution of the Texas GOP in real-time with Rinaldi at the helm of the chaos and now we know why–Chairman Rinaldi is in the pocket of Nazi billionaires who are paying him to infiltrate the Republican Party of Texas. It is long past time for Texans to recognize that the Republican Party of Texas is dominated by white supremacists with extreme racist ideologies that have no place in our government. Matt Rinaldi’s legacy reflects that of a talking head for the extremist right that has led his Party directly into the ground. And if any extremist MAGA organization with fruitful ties to white supremacy is looking for a stooge – Matt Rinaldi is up for hire. Just name your price.”
