Greg Abbott Continues to Abandon Texans

AUSTIN, Texas - Greg Abbott has spent billions of dollars attempting to sustain his failed Operation Lone Star. The mission has proven to be one of the biggest wastes of taxpayer dollars in modern history. As Texans continue to struggle to put food on the table, attain affordable health insurance, and stay afloat; Greg Abbott continues to abandon them. Texans deserve a governor who will work for them, not against their interest.

Texas Democratic Party Chair Gilberto Hinojosa released the following statement on Greg Abbott’s failed Leadership:

“Greg Abbott is a pathetic excuse of a governor and a modern day conman who has abandoned his constituents at every turn. Abbott has banded together with his Republican counterparts to wreak havoc on Texans. At every turn, they have lined their pockets while robbing Texans of their hard-earned money and their freedom.”

“Abbott continues to play political theater along the southern border and endanger the livelihoods of servicemen and servicewomen. His actions are not only reckless, but they’re also nearly criminal. At this point he has spent nearly three billion dollars of taxpayer money to sustain his antics while everyday Texans continue to struggle-he has turned his back on his constituents and become beholden to big oil and corruption.

“Because of Abbott’s inability to lead, he’s wasted billions of our taxpayer dollars funding his failed operation instead of utilizing it appropriately to expand Medicaid, raise teacher salaries, improve our roads, and ensure Texans had what they needed to survive. 

 “Greg Abbott is a dangerous threat to Texans, and he cannot be trusted to remain in office. Abbott and his crooked Republican cronies are a regime of authoritarian leaders who continue to terrorize Texans. They deny us health insurance, a livable wage, the freedom to learn, bodily autonomy and much more. Texas Democrats are working to hold these thugs accountable at the ballot box this November and liberate Texans.”
