Ahead Of Paxton’s Appearance At Texas GOP Convention, Here Are The Questions That Need To Be Answered

Dallas Morning News:  “Character is more important than party [..] I cannot trust Ken Paxton. I’ll never trust Ken Paxton. I’ll never vote for him. I’ll never support him.”

Austin, Texas – As Ken Paxton makes his appearance at the Texas GOP Convention today, he faces a party that is fractured and divided over his candidacy, with more and more Texas Republicans pledging “I’ll never vote for him” citing his “scandal, indictment, infidelity and putting his own interests ahead of Texans.”

Texans are outraged over Paxton’s record of corruption, including his Epstein-style sweetheart plea deal for Adam Hoffman, an admitted child molester who was allowed back onto Texas streets in mere days without being required to register as a sex offender in Texas by Paxton.

Here are some of the many questions Paxton and Texas Republicans need to answer as he makes his appearance at the convention today:

  • Why won’t Paxton address questions from reporters and his own party about his handling of the Adam Hoffman case?

  • Do Republicans support Paxton’s office's plea deal allowing Hoffman to stay off the sex offender registry and serve less than 30 days in jail?

  • Why did Paxton agree to have Texas let a child molester off the hook when Nebraska didn’t?

  • What does Paxton have to say to Senator Cornyn and the chorus of Texas Republicans who have declared they will not support him in November because of his corruption?

Texas Democratic Party spokesperson Ryan Martin said:

“Ken Paxton’s record of corruption and protecting pedophiles makes him morally unfit for office, and more Texas Republicans are coming out every day to say it. Paxton needs to break his silence and answer for the Epstein-style sweetheart deal he gave Adam Hoffman. And Texas Republicans must answer for putting one of the most corrupt politicians in America at the top of their ticket.”
