ECHO TEAM SELF ONBOARDING

ColorBG.png

Your guide and resources to join our Echo team! Echo helps you share election-related content and information with your personal networks and circles. It also gives you the chance to share feedback with the campaign, so that our candidates can hone their strategies and focus on issues that matter most to Texans. It only takes 15 minutes a week, but has an outsize impact!

Please review and complete the onboarding steps in the order they are listed. If you have any questions, please message us in Slack.

Recorded onboarding video option:

If you prefer to watch a recorded onboarding video as opposed to reading through the steps below, you may do so below.

Regardless of whether you watch the video, please use the updated "join now" links below to set up your Echo account.

Step 1: Join Echo

Join Echo at the link below. Input your details when prompted. It’s a website — you do not need to download anything to your phone or computer.

Step 2: Map Your Networks

Echo will prompt you to start adding your personal networks. You are never asked to add, nor will Echo ever know anything about, the people in your networks or their personal details. The network mapping tool simply helps you keep track of the networks so that you can be sure to keep them in mind when sharing campaign-related information.

Example networks: High school friends group chat, Church group, neighborhood group, sports group. Any space where folks care about what you have to say!

Step 3: Share Echo Content With Your Networks!

Roughly once a week, we will update Echo with a new content “campaign” focused on an election-related issue (examples include voter registration, data centers, volunteer opportunities, and affordability).

We’ll text you when we release the new campaign and ask you to share content from the campaign within your networks. You’re encouraged to use your own words. You can also share from past campaigns that you’ll have access to on Echo.

Step 4: Tell Us How it Went!

Democratic candidates want to hear from you and your networks about what matters most to you. We’ll text you a few days after each content drop to ask how your networks reacted to the content. Your short reports (just a sentence or two) help us focus our efforts and strategy in the final few weeks leading up to the election. Thank you for pitching in!

Step 5: Join Slack

(Optional, but recommended)

Slack is a communication platform that can be used through your web browser and natively on your phone or computer. It’s best if you download the free app. For desktop or laptop computers, visit Slack.com to download the app. For mobile devices, search “Slack” in your app store.

If you haven’t used Slack before, you’ll need to register for a free account and create a username and password. Click the button below to create your account. If you already have a Slack account, just tap the button below to login and join.

Once in the Slack, join the #echo-team channel. Ask questions there if you run into trouble. Don’t hesitate to share ideas for future Echo campaigns or success stories from ongoing ones!
