Austin, Texas — During Texas Voter Registration Week, the Texas Democratic Party shattered our goal of reaching out to 1 million unregistered Texans. We are proud to announce we contacted a staggering 1.3 million unregistered Texans last week.
Our democracy thrives when more people participate. The Texas Democratic Party knows that voter registration is an integral part of our path to victory.
- “The latest effort from the Texas Democratic Party ahead the 2020 election signals a delegate rich state like Texas could be competitive for the first time in decades”
- “The effort was the biggest in party history, and comes as polls show a near dead-heat between President Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden in Texas, which a Democrat hasn’t carried since 1976.”
- “The 1.3 million Texans that Democrats reached out to exceeded the party’s goals of reaching 1 million unregistered voters.”
Texas Democratic Party Executive Director Manny Garcia issued the following statement:
“Our efforts during Texas Voter Registration Week are expanding the Texas electorate as we speak. Not only were we able to achieve our goal of reaching out to 1 million unregistered Texans, we exceeded that goal by reaching out to a staggering 1.3 million unregistered Texans.
“We thank MJ Hegar for helping us pull off the largest voter registration effort in our state party’s history. If you have not registered to vote, right now is the time. Visit registertexas.com to get started.”
