AUSTIN, TX — The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee announced their 2020 battlefield.
“One key geographic area where Democrats will go on offense is Texas, home to six of these seats (TX-10, TX-21, TX-22, TX-23, TX-24 AND TX-31)… In 2018, the DCCC demonstrated that the once formidable Republican fortress in Orange County (California) could fall, and in 2020 a rapidly emerging Democratic coalition will make Texas a focal point of the House Democrats’ offensive strategy.” [DCCC, January 28, 2019]
Districts targeted by the DCCC:
Michael McCaul (TX-10),
Chip Roy (TX-21),
Pete Olson (TX-22),
Will Hurd (TX-23)
Kenny Marchant (TX-24) and
John Carter (TX-31).
Texas Democratic Party Chair Gilberto Hinojosa issued the following statement:
“Texas is the most important battleground state in 2020. The future of our nation depends on us.
“We will defeat Donald Trump. We will elect more Texas Democrats to Congress who will pass a new Voting Rights Act to end Republican gerrymandering. We will never stop fighting for a fair shot for all.
“We’re thankful for the early investments by our national Democratic partners. Let’s get to work!”
