Austin, TX — The Texas Democratic Party is proud of the Democrats who have stepped up and filed to run for the Texas State Legislature in 2020. Texas Democrats are only 9 seats away from flipping the Texas State House and are targeting 22 seats that were within 10 points in 2018. The top of the ticket won a majority of seats in 2018, giving us a clear pathway to victory in 2020.
In the State Senate, Texas Democrats are poised to break the supermajority currently held by Texas Republicans.

Texas Democratic Party Executive Director Manny Garcia issued the following statement:
