Texas Democrats are more fired up now than ever before, and with the 2022 elections coming up fast, we’ve re-launched our resume bank to help connect aspiring staffers with Texas campaigns! Whether you’re hiring or looking for a campaign job, we’re here to bridge the gap.
If you want to work on a Democratic campaign in Texas during the 2022 cycle, submit your resume to the Texas Democratic Party resume bank. We know that barriers like not knowing where to apply for campaign jobs are very real and that’s why we want to help our Texas Dems in their job search! Whether you’re looking to be a campaign manager for a local city council race or do fundraising for a state legislative race, we want to help connect you to those opportunities.
Just like we have a form for you to fill out, we have one for campaigns looking for staffers! If you match the criteria that a campaign is looking for, we will send them your resume, and they may reach out to you about formally applying or interviewing if they think you’d be a good fit for their campaign.
As you get your job search started, make sure to polish up your resume so you can stand out from the start! Check out these tips from NDTC on how to perfect your political resume. A best practice is to share your resume in PDF format, so that is how we’ll be collecting them for the resume bank. You can convert your resume to a pdf here.
You will need to enter the following information:
- Your contact information
- Which campaigns you’re interested in
- How much paid experience you have and in which roles
- And where in Texas you have political experience
- Take a look at our regions here
- If you’re fluent in any languages other than English
- You will need to consent to having your resume shared
- Starting in 2022, we will send you a quarterly reminder to submit your most recent resume if you’re still actively seeking employment.
Submitting your information to the resume bank is not a guarantee of employment, and we encourage you to continue applying to jobs directly. Read the instructions carefully — anyone found to be providing misleading or inaccurate information will be permanently barred from the resume bank.
If you’re a Democratic candidate or campaign staffer currently hiring for a role, your campaign can request resumes here. We had conversations with former candidates, advisors, and political operatives who guided us to focus our efforts in helping campaigns find applicants for the following positions:
- Campaign Manager
- Finance Director
- Field Director
- Finance Director
- Communications Director
- Call Time Manager
- Social Media Manager
To help us provide you with the best group of prospective staffers, please complete a separate request for each position you are hiring for. You will need to enter information about your campaign, like where the position is located and what office are you running for, what position you’re hiring for, and the experience level you’re looking for.
Once you submit this information, a member of our political team will reach out to you with the resumes of potential staffers who meet the criteria. If someone looks like they’d be a good fit for your campaign, please email them and let them know that you received their resume through the State Party’s resume bank and invite them to apply or interview for the role. Here is a sample introduction email you can use. If you interview someone and they don’t seem to be a good fit, we ask that you please send them a rejection email. You can find a sample email here.
The information we are sharing with you is meant to be used by your campaign only. Please do not share the resumes or contact information that we provide with others. If you come across a campaign or candidate who would like to request resumes from the resume bank, please direct them to the request form. Lastly, check out these support documents we’ve put together for campaigns to navigate the resume bank and hiring process. We also included information about additional job boards in case you are hiring for a different role than the ones listed above or are seeking additional applicants.
