Donald Trump and Texas Republicans Have Failed Managing the Coronavirus Crisis, The Crisis is Still Not Under Control
AUSTIN, Texas — COVID-19 hospitalizations in Texas have now risen steadily for the past ten days and have reached over 4,000 after dropping to a low of 3000 last month. Daily infections and positivity rate also continues to rise and new cases today were the second highest they have been since August 1st.
All of this is on the backdrop of bars reopening next week after the Governor’s order.
Texas Republicans have had months to show that they can manage crisis situations. They have failed time and time again. As Texas voters enter the polls, we must remember that to end the coronavirus crisis, we must elect Democrats up and down the ballot.
Texas Republican Leadership has failed.
Texas Democratic Party Communications Director Abhi Rahman issued the following statement:
“Donald Trump and the rest of the Trump Republican Party have failed. The coronavirus response at the federal and state level is the most colossal failure made by a president and governor in American and Texas history. Texas hospitalizations, cases, and positivity rate continue to rise. Texas Republicans simply aren’t getting the job done. Reelecting Trump and these Trump Republicans is akin to admitting that things will never get better in the state of Texas.
“We can do better. We can beat the coronavirus and build our economy back better. That’s why we must elect Democrats up and down the ballot in November. Everything is on the line. Find your closest polling place and make a plan to vote at mytexasvotes.com today.”
