It’s not always possible to get to the polls on Election Day, particularly if you’re over the age of 65, have a disability, or will be out of town during early voting and Election Day. However, mobility shouldn’t determine who can participate in our elections. In order to turn Texas blue up and down the ballot in November, Texas Democrats are going to send 815,000 vote-by-mail applications to eligible Texans across the state.
This is the most important election of our lifetimes, and throughout the last three election cycles, we’ve nearly tripled the number of Democratic votes by mail. By working together, Texas Democrats will make our democracy more accessible for eligible Texans.
“I’ve been doing this for a long time and I know that without a doubt elections are won and lost because of vote-by-mail,” said Glen Maxey, former State Representative.
Texas Republicans actively work to suppress voting access, particularly within communities of color. When we win big on Election Day, it will be because we expanded voting opportunities for eligible Texans, and protected ballot box access. We cannot allow Republicans to drown out our voices, and through our vote by mail program, we can ensure Texans are heard.
